Training: “Oracle Performance – SQL Tuning”

Objectives
This training will teach you how to identify performance issues in your databases and implement the appropriate solutions to resolve them. A significant portion is dedicated to SQL query tuning, often responsible for the most significant slowdowns, and thus offering the potential for dramatic improvements.
Duration
This training lasts 2 days in a classroom setting.
Outline
• Introduction to tuning
• Oracle architecture: processing an SQL query
• Diagnosis: wait events, AWR/Statspack report
• SQL Optimization: indexes, partitioning, joins, execution plans, optimizer, and statistics…
• Very large databases, parallelism, materialized views
Participants
This training is aimed at Oracle database administrators, whether experienced or not, as well as developers looking to improve their skills in writing efficient SQL queries.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of SQL.
Experience in Oracle database administration is a plus.

This training is version-independent, meaning it can be taken regardless of the Oracle database version in use.
